Good morning, dear community.
I am excited to announce that I am working on a new album. The working title is "Quantum Deception", which also serves as the title track.
Five tracks are already complete! They might need a bit of polishing, but overall, they are ready. Two well-known demosceners have already had a sneak peek: Jochen 'Virgill' Feldkötter and Claus-Dieter 'Adok' Volko from Hugi Magazine.
Both are long-time friends whose opinions I greatly value. After letting them preview some tracks, I can say they are very excited about this album!
No Tracking Modules This Time
For fans of tracking modules (.it / Impulse Tracker), I have some unfortunate news: this time, there won’t be any downloadable modules. Lately, I’ve been using OpenMPT mainly for creating my own samples/instruments with various VST plugins. While I do compose some tracks in OpenMPT, I only save individual patterns as .wav files and import them into FL Studio or Renoise, which are my primary tools right now.
I'm sorry, but I also want to expand my skills and learn new things. I've been putting this off for too long. Since I don’t own any hardware like a keyboard, I have to adapt. My girlfriend owns a violin, which will be featured in some tracks!
A Variety of Sounds
The tracks on this album are quite diverse ranging from techno, downtempo, chillout, synthpop, emotional, orchestral/easy listening. One track even has a distinct cyberpunk vibe, set in 2049, featuring some intense, gritty sounds.
Release Date?
How many tracks will the album have? I don’t know yet. I’ll keep going until I feel it’s complete—it could be in three months or a year from now. But I wanted to share this milestone with you because it has been a long time since my last album. After struggling with illness (and still recovering), I finally have some energy again to pursue my passion: computer music.
Stay healthy and take care!
Your melcom
