🔗 melcom's FFmpeg Audio Normalizer v3.2.0 (Nachtschicht Edition)

melcom's FFmpeg Audio Normalizer is a free Windows GUI for automatic loudness normalization using the EBU R128 standard, powered by the versatile FFmpeg engine. It supports MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, OGG, and more. Version 3.2.0 (Nachtschicht Edition) now includes a dedicated mastering character selector, a clearer preset system, and a cleaner default workflow built around Transparent.

I built this tool to make audio normalization simple and accessible - no command line required. Written in Python, it’s available in English, German, and Polish, each with a dedicated help file. Questions or issues? Contact me.

What's new in v3.2.0 (Nachtschicht Edition)?

This release focuses on more musical and production-focused normalization workflows while keeping the default behavior transparent and easy to understand.

  • Mastering Character Selector: Added a dedicated Mastering Character dropdown with dynamic help text for each preset.
  • Cleaner Default Preset: The default UI preset is now Transparent and adds no extra character processing.
  • Preset-Driven Filter Chain: The mastering chain is now generated from the preset definitions, making the processing path easier to extend and maintain.
  • Professional Labels: The preset names now use clearer UI labels such as Transparent, Cohesive, Punchy, and Aggressive in the supported languages.
  • Expanded Loudness & True Peak Presets: Clearer presets for streaming, podcast, gaming/dynamic music, broadcast, and custom target workflows.
  • Improved Progress Display: Single-file normalization now uses an animated activity indicator for better visual feedback during processing.
  • Refined User Interface: Improved preset dropdown sizing and layout compatibility for English, German, and Polish translations.

🔗 My Self Created Samples

Here you can find my self-created samples. All samples are available in .flac format. These samples can be used without any problems, for example in OpenMPT. However, if you want to use these samples in Schism Tracker, you will need to convert them to the .wav format.

To convert the samples, you will need FLAC. You can create a batch file to use the Flac.exe, or you can use Flac Frontend. I can also provide you with my batch file. Please write to me if you would like to have it.

There are currently over 200 .flac samples available. All files are in their original length. You can do whatever you want with the samples / instruments 🙂 But maybe you could give me credits 🤗 But it's not really necessary.

melcom's GhostKey Sentinel is a free, lightweight AutoHotkey script designed to fix mechanical keyboard chattering-the frustrating issue where a single key press registers multiple times.

This "set it and forget it" tool runs silently in the background, intercepting unwanted "ghost" key presses without adding any input lag. It's the perfect solution to restore a flawless typing experience on keyboards that have started to show their age.

Highlighter with X is a compact userscript that lets you highlight any text on any webpage in yellow, green, or red, and remove the highlight instantly with a hover-activated “×” button.

It’s perfect for marking up patch notes, articles, or forum posts. The script also automatically saves your highlights and restores them when you revisit the page.
